It is so peaceful that in the 18th century, this location was chosen as a refuge for Augustinian monks returning from the Island of Montecristo, and for the hospitality they received, they erected the sanctuary where inside there is a very valuable panel painting of which it is said that the draft design belonged to Michelangelo Buonarroti.
